If all goes well, in addition to having Tuesday off, I may get out of work early Monday, so this page should be done without any problems this week. Tomorrow I'll be visiting FedEx Office to scan a few pages. Without further ado, a progress shoot of the fifth panel.

Week in Review 12/28/12

Thursdays progress

Finished writing up to page twenty three and transcribed up to page twenty two. Nine more pages to the finished issue, a good third of action.

Progress thus far

With the short week from losing time from the holiday, I've decided to work primarily on the issue seven script. I'm just over a third of the way through. This I'd a big introspective issue for Mikala, do its taking a bit more to keep it what I hope will be interesting. More updates tomorrow. Stay well, everyone.

So I'm going to try to Getty a nap then keep working. Historically this had not worked out well for me. Generally I end up waking up the next morning. So, just in case, here are a few updated pics.

Diversifying tonight. Between my cleaning i am working on preping other pages. I added a little close up of the sky.

The primary characters in the front are pretty much done, Mikala Harris and Caden. Got the general outline for the boat done, the moon done the eyes started and the captain roughed in a little more. Enjoy.

Tuesday, Cover Second Day

Day two. Almost done with Mikala and i started working in Harris a bit. This morning consisted of using my reference photos to keep the faces consistent. Thus evening was mostly finalizing details. See you tomorrow with more.

So last night I got issue six transcribed and up to page 10 character roughs finished. I also started on my final decision for the new schedule. More info in tonight's week in review.

Week in review 12/7/12

So I wracked my brain yesterday

And I feel like I've listed all the inspirations I have right now. I'm going to restructure the blog a little, maybe try to show whole pages in the course of the week--something I will have to determine if my spare time allows. I'll be off the bus and back in my car soon, so while the scripting may take a hit, I well have more time at home.

For today, I'm going to post all my pictures leading up to the completion of page one. I like to keep track of where I'm at on a page, so here goes. (I am missing some very early shots but will post them if I find them.) The pencils for page two should be posted this week. I will post all progress shots for two tonight

Saturday and Sunday

So with double shots both days, I was totally exhausted. I laid down after i got hope yesterday at ten with intention to get up, but when I woke up at for  I decided to finish my night's sleep. I did get this panel going with tight rights, which is ironically how i felt this weekend.

Thursdays progress shot

So i war hoping to get several pages of tight roughs done tonight, bit as you can see I am still working on page three. As the scenes get less populated it should go much faster, but in the mean time, here's a few shots of what I did today. Another big news piece is that, with the aid if a good reference book, I finally pinned down what I wanted to do with Harris' outfit.

Inspiration: The Watchmen

Not really the comic, but I am in love with the grid style. As you can see from the roughs, I'm just doing variations of the grid style. Some times I feel like I've varied it up more than I actually like, because there's something to be said about consistency. Mostly that when you break from the similar layouts, the different panels have more subconscious impact. So if you ever think, man, I wish she'd do something crazy fifties and put in a big circle panel, or maybe some major rad diagonal panels, know it's not going to happen. :) See you all tomorrow with another progress shot.

Tuesday progress

So today was a big writing day. I got to about page 25 of issue 5 and decided some rewrites were in order. I'm in the process of smoothing out some transitions. The issue will be fully written tomorrow. See you with an inspiration post tomorrow!

Taking a break from Character Updates

There are a lot of characters, but I'd like to wait a little while before posting any more. I'm afraid it'll give things away. Here's a little progress shot.

Holiday updates in a day.

Sorry about all the delays! Like I say in the video, my mom was in town. I don't get to see her very often, but I did get work done while she was in town. She said she reads the blog, so hi mom! Got a lot of rest with my days off, so I'm ready for more late nights for a while. Here's the week in review:
